The article presents the results of the development of professional and applied abilities of future civil engineers. The means of physical culture and sports that influence the development of psychophysio-logical features of eye-measuring abilities necessary in the future professional activity of a specialist in the construction industry were indicated. The purpose of the study is to identify the influence of physical culture and sports on the development of ocular abilities in students of construction specialties. Tasks: 1) To select the means of physical culture and sports for the development of the ocular abilities of future civil engineers; 2) Experimentally determine their effect on the ocular abilities of students of construction specialties during one semester of study. As a result, there are significant changes in the linear and volumetric abilities of the eye in the experimental group by 12,9% higher than in the control group. The formed abilities will allow you to determine the linear and spatial magnitudes of objects, which are the subject of the professional activity of a civil engineer, without the use of instrumental evaluation methods. The results obtained will improve the quality of the educational process and the level of professional development of future specialists
