The role and significance, the content of the Olympic education of schoolchildren are revealed in many scientific works. At the same time, there are a number of unresolved issues that objectively complicate the effectiveness of teaching Olympic knowledge in physical education classes at school. It is necessary to define more clearly the goals and objectives, the content of Olympic education for different age groups of students, to identify the features of its implementation in the educational process of physical culture and training specialists to carry out this activity. The content of the article presents the results of the study indicating the effectiveness of teaching Olympic knowledge in physical education classes in elementary school, which, in turn, necessitates further research aimed at improving the system of Olympic education of schoolchildren
