Universal digitalization has opened up a lot of new opportunities for people. However, it is often possible to observe the manifestation of negative psychological consequences of digitalization, for example, such as increased anxiety, stress, apathy, etc. The article deals with the problem of social apathy among students. The survey of students from several universities in the city of Samara was conducted, on the basis of which the causes of social apathy, as well as the factors that accompany the apathetic lifestyle of students, were identified. It was revealed that students spend most of their free time on social networks and lack live communication with their peers. Most students understand the role of exercise in preventing social apathy. Many are ready and want to bring more sports and active physical activity into their lives. As a measure to prevent the occurrence of social apathy among students, it is proposed to use playing sports in the classroom and in extracurricular activities
