The article presents the results of the authors' studies on the analysis of the effect of passing turns on performance in breaststroke swimming. It has been found that all stages of turning execution are not typical movements, since they combine complex directivity, high ligament and joint load, as well as a high degree of coordination of movements. Thanks to good stretching, the muscles are able to perform more powerful, faster and at the same time high-quality movements, which leads to an increase in the speed of turning. All elements of the rotary segment are amenable to training. Increasing the number of spent segments, the strength and stability of movements increases. Reducing total distance time by training a turn is easier than trying to raise the speed of swimming on smooth water
