The purpose of the study is to analyze and statistically substantiate the regional features of the development of basic physical qualities (speed, coordination abilities, strength qualities, flexibility) in children aged 4–6 years living in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the city of Ulyanovsk, as well as to identify the factors influencing their differences. Research methods: analysis and generalization of scientific literature data, pedagogical observation, testing, and statistical data processing (Student's t‑test). Research results and conclusions. It was revealed that at the age of 4, children from Yakutia significantly outperform their peers from Ulyanovsk in running speed and flexibility. At the age of 5–6, a stable advantage of Ulyanovsk children was identified in the development of coordination abilities. The obtained results indicate a pronounced influence of climatic conditions, seasonality of motor activity, and regional features of the organization of physical education on the development of physical qualities in preschool children. The necessity of differentiated correction of the content of physical education classes in preschool educational organizations, taking into account the identified regional features, is substantiated.
