The article raises the question of the impact on physical education classes at the university of the methods of rehabilitation using the Tabata system in combination with other non-traditional wellness products (hatha yoga, hand gymnastics Yoshiro Tsutsumi, yogolates, oriental breathing exercises), which the authors propose, on the physical condition and functional fitness of students. Functional state tests performed at the Russian University of Transport in June 2023 (the end of the pedagogical experiment) found a significant improvement in the indicators in the experimental group compared with the results of the control group. Also, the students of the experimental group showed a noticeable increase in the results of the Harvard step test index (29.27%), the Ruffier index (35.34%), the orthostatic test (44.03%), the Stange test (67.17%) and the Genchi test (73.45%). Analyzing the indicators of the tests conducted at the end of the study, we concluded that the effectiveness of using Tabata exercise complexes in the classroom at the university in order to increase the levels of functional fitness and physical condition of young people.
