With the development of digitalization and the rapid progress of artificial intelligence (AI), its widespread application encompasses an increasing number of areas of life. Artificial intelligence, as a new interdisciplinary field, has achieved significant success in supporting the development of the sports industry. However, due to the high costs of implementation, this advanced technology has not gained widespread adoption in the field of sports. Alongside this, issues of insufficient guidance in extracurricular sports activities and dependence on mobile devices are becoming increasingly relevant. The purpose of the study is to analyze the theoretical and practical aspects of the application of artificial intelligence in organizing extracurricular sports activities. Research methods: analysis of scientific publications from China and Russia, as well as the personal experience of the authors. Organization of the research. To identify the strengths and weaknesses of modern sports applications using artificial intelligence, a survey was conducted among 100 students. Research results. The potential for deep interaction between university sports and artificial intelligence technologies for the comprehensive development of this field has been considered. Based on the data obtained, recommendations were proposed for improving sports programs using AI, aimed at enhancing students' extracurricular sports activities.
