Methods of analysis and generalization of scientific and methodological literature, the author's and his colleagues' many years of personal experience, and pedagogical experimentation were utilized. The proposed options for forming groups of students engaged in sambo, depending on their preparedness, were tested in elective sambo classes with students from the State University of Management and cadets from the Vladimir Law Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. Research results and conclusions. The sport of sambo allows for classes to be conducted with students of varying levels of physical fitness and experience in martial arts. The individual educational trajectory of a student should take into account their readiness to engage in one of the disciplines of sambo: sambo wrestling, combat sambo, or demonstration sambo. The integration of individual educational trajectories into the educational process for students enables the use of training technologies for sambo wrestlers.
