Incorporating kettlebell exercises into practical classes of elective physical education
Abstract and keywords
Abstract (English):
The purpose of the study is to identify the effectiveness of kettlebell training, which, in terms of energy expenditure and energy supply, can replace exercises in cross-country running. Research methods and organization. A comparative analysis of physical exercises involving cross-country running and 16 kg kettlebell snatches was conducted. The study involved students from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. All participants had average physical fitness levels and athletic performances. Conclusions. It has been established that kettlebell training, in terms of energy expenditure and energy supply, can replace running exercises in the absence of conditions for the latter. The application of competitive kettlebell sport exercises in physical education classes has a comprehensive impact on the body of the participants. During these sessions, students' general, strength, and speed endurance improve, as do their physical development and functional condition indicators.
