Development of students' critical thinking as a priority task of the modern education system

Abstract (English):
The article shows that in the modern knowledge society there are growing demands on the flexible intellectual skills of workers, including critical thinking. The author examines the contradiction between the ability to easily and quickly satisfy the need for constant receipt of information and the need to develop skills in selection, critical attitude and rational use of information. The author outlines the features of such elements of critical thinking as logic, the ability to correctly formulate questions, reflection, rationality, attentiveness, information literacy, the ability to manage time and suggests ways to develop them.
