The article examines the current state of the system of career guidance, personnel certification and the formation of a personnel reserve of administrative bodies at various levels in the sports industry. The problems of forming a unified, holistic, continuous and continuous system of career guidance and professional selection in the field of physical culture, sports, tourism and hospitality are identified, and the role of the branch university in this process is presented. The structure of current professionograms and the principles of updating, based on them, monitoring complexes of propaedeutic personnel assessment and personnel certification in the interests of building a practice-oriented system of career guidance, professional selection and certification of personnel in the field of sports, tourism and hospitality has been determined. The analysis of the regulatory framework for the activities of specialists in the field of sports, a retrospective analysis of professional selection and career guidance in sports organizations in Russia and abroad. The results of a survey of highly qualified employees and representatives of the administration of sports and educational organizations in the Moscow region, subordinate to the Moscow Department of Sports, are presented. Deficits in the system of career guidance, professional selection and evaluation of the effectiveness of professional activity of personnel in the field of sports, tourism and hospitality have been identified. New guidelines are proposed for the development of monitoring complexes for assessing the personnel prospects of employees of sports and sports educational institutions and organizations based on changes in the contours of professional competence of employees and the dynamics of their functional job responsibilities.
