Interdisciplinary connections are the most important learning principle in modern education. This principle ensures the relationship between the natural science and social and humanitarian cycles, as well as their connection with the labor education of students. With the help of interdisciplinary connections, the teacher of the discipline “Physical Education”, in collaboration with teachers of other subjects, carries out a targeted solution to a set of educational tasks. The novelty of the study lies in the development of recommendations for the productive interaction of various academic disciplines necessary to improve the quality of education and motivate students to attend classes. The article discusses the theoretical foundations of the interaction of the discipline “Physical Education” with other academic disciplines. In the process of research work, the role of physical education in the development of human potential was determined and existing scientific data on this topic was summarized. The results of an empirical study of first-year students are presented, which confirm an increase in students’ motivation for their studies and an increase in interest in the relationship between various academic disciplines.
