Theoretical and experimental substantiation of tests to assess the operational thinking of young orienteering athletes

Abstract (English):
The article discusses the features of controlling the level of development of operational thinking as the main component of tactical preparedness of orienteering athletes of various ages. The study established indicators characterizing the operational thinking of adolescent athletes specializing in cross-country orienteering. The obtained factual data reflecting the age dynamics of operational thinking make it possible to effectively predict the prospects and apply them as an informative criterion for selecting children for orienteering classes.
