The article presents the results of a review of literary sources and a survey of coaches on the study of methods for optimizing the system of training athletes in power martial arts for competitive activities. In the course of the study, five stages of preparing athletes for competitive activities were identified, following which allows optimizing the training system based on taking into account the individual psychological characteristics of athletes, which allows individualizing training and building an optimal personal trajectory of athlete training. The high importance of psychological, general and special training is noted, the skillful combination of which allows athletes of power martial arts to form a psychological readiness for competitive activity.
