The article presents a study on the impact of increasing the volume of work on the development of speed quality during the main period of sports training on the results of 15-16 year old skiers. The dynamics of changes in speed abilities of young skiers-racers were studied during the implementation of special training sessions, which were organized on the basis of GBU DO VO "SSHOR No. 12" in Voronezh with the participation of 12 athletes with a sports qualification of the first category. It has been established that conducting individual training sessions within microcycles, focused on developing speed quality in young racers, allows for more targeted achievement of the main training process goals at the present stage.
