The article substantiates the possibility of using media technologies as a means of increasing the motivation of students. One way to use media technology to increase motivation is through the use of interactive learning platforms and online courses. With the help of such resources, students can access additional educational materials, complete interactive tasks and cases. A useful tool of media technologies is the use of virtual and augmented reality in the educational process, which makes learning more exciting and allows students to better understand and solve complex technical problems, increasing their own level of digital culture, acquiring skills of confident mastery of technical and technological tools and algorithms. The use of media technologies allows teachers to create more interesting, attractive tasks, build classes based on innovative pedagogical technologies, implement interdisciplinary connections, which also contributes to increasing the motivation of students to study at a technical university. The article analyzes the concept of "media technology", its structure, functions and role in the educational process of a transport university.
