The article presents the possibilities of sports motivation in the formation of sports culture among student-athletes. It reflects the main reasons for engaging in sports, their influence on the choice of sport, as well as their impact on the personal development and socialization of student-athletes. The main research method chosen was the "Motives for Sports Participation" technique by A.V. Shabolta. The research results showed that the predominant motive for student-athletes is "physical self-assertion." It is noted that the obtained conclusions will be useful for educators, coaches, and anyone involved in sports motivation and the formation of sports culture among student-athletes.
