Age-related characteristics of temporal interval perception in boxers at different stages of sports training
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to compare the age-related characteristics of temporal interval perception in boxers at different stages of sports training. Research methods and organization. The study involved boxers of varying qualifications, divided into two age groups: adolescents and adults. The study design included psychophysiological testing and a comparative analysis of the obtained data. The psychophysiological testing involved a verbal assessment of time intervals using an interactive metronome in three types of tasks: reproducing time intervals in sync with auditory and visual stimuli presented at a frequency of 1 second, as well as according to an individual rhythm at a frequency of 1 second. Research results and conclusions. No reliable differences between groups were found in the assessment of time intervals according to individual rhythm; however, adolescents showed greater variability in results. In tasks with external stimuli, adult boxers demonstrated statistically higher accuracy and stability. It was established that with age and the development of athletic mastery, boxers develop a specific sense of time, which is manifested in the stability of time interval assessments.
