Abstract:
Under the conditions of increasing requirements for the use of innovative physical culture and health technologies in professional activity it is necessary to have a proper content and methodology of certification procedure for assessing the level of professional competence of fitness trainers. The purpose of this assessment is not only to state the existing level, but, above all, to plan the professional growth of these specialists. Meanwhile, the lack of clear definitions of the professional competence of a fitness trainer makes it difficult to develop the content and methodology of this assessment. The main purpose of the study is to develop the content and methods of certification procedure for assessing the level of professional competence of fitness trainers. In the framework of solving the research task methodological, communicative and professional competences in the general structure of professional competence of a fitness trainer were singled out. In the framework of separation of knowledge and activity components the components of certification procedure are defined, the criteria and indicators of which reveal the main content of this competence. The objectivity of the attestation procedure is ensured by using the method of group expert evaluation within the framework of the 3-point measurement scale, which allows revealing the low, medium and high levels of professional competence of fitness trainers. The presented results of the study can be used by organizations providing physical culture and health services to the population, in the construction and operation of the corporate training system. The disclosed content and methodology of the assessment allow the management and expert community of organizations to give an objective view of the professional qualities of employees, to identify and eliminate problems associated with the performance of professional duties and determine the prospects for further improvement of their professionalism
