In the modern social situation, the motivation of students of universities of sports and tourism to study European foreign languages has changed significantly. Thus, a number of students consider language training at the university to be redundant at present due to the fact that the configuration of tourism routes and tourist clusters has become different, more focused on the disclosure of domestic destinations. The situation in the sports industry has changed with the possibility of our athletes performing and coaches working in Western and European countries. At the same time, the practice-oriented language training in universities has not lost its relevance, and many students see it as an opportunity to increase competitiveness even in the domestic labor market. In this regard, it is necessary to revise the concept of modern textbooks and methodological manuals on foreign languages in foreign languages of the Western group. The basis for the revision of this concept was the classification of A.L. Nazarenko. The authors of the concept are presenting the UMK for practice-oriented language training of students of universities of sports and tourism for the first time.
