The article discusses the possibilities of additional physical education in the development of motivation for activities, regulatory and communicative universal educational actions among students of the basic school. The methodology of additional physical education of schoolchildren of grades 7-9 has been developed, including an additional general development program implemented based on a system-activity approach, didactic material - experimental tasks, research tasks, projects performed on analog and digital equipment. The developed theoretical model is the basis for the design of innovative supplementary education implemented in the center "Point of Growth", a graphic representation of the components of the methodology of additional physical education of schoolchildren of grades 7-9 in their unity. The system-forming and conceptual basis for the construction of a theoretical model is the modular construction of an additional general development program "Experiment and research activities in physics". The methodology developed on the basis of a theoretical model and applied in the center "Point of Growth" has shown effectiveness in the development of personal qualities of students.
