Butterfly can compete with breaststroke in terms of quantitative involvement of muscle groups, but in terms of energy consumption, it is sharply inferior to breaststroke. The athlete's muscles mainly perform the function of movement and stabilization of the body in an aquatic environment. Using the breaststroke style, the movement on the water surface is carried out by moving the arms under itself with a forward thrust and by moving the legs, pulling under itself with further dilution to the sides with a push motion. The technical aspects of breaststroke sports swimming determine the main muscle load. The muscles of the arms in breaststroke sports swimming are involved differently, the main load is directed at the deltoid muscles and forearm muscles, the biceps and triceps muscles are slightly involved.
