The article analyzes the problem of adaptation of first-year students to study at a medical college, student life and various factors that influence the development of future specialists. Using the example of a study conducted in the Krasnodar Regional Basic Medical College, the dependencies of students' attitudes to learning and problems in student life are shown, for which the criteria of socio-psychological adaptation were identified. Today, modern teenagers face a difficult choice after the 9th grade, on which their further education, work and position in society depend. The beginning of college education is associated with a period of adaptation among students - most recently, yesterday's students find themselves in new conditions of educational activity and new life situations. This is accompanied by a significant restructuring of mental and physiological states.
