The indicator of the proportion of highly qualified athletes who are candidates for national sports teams of the Russian Federation among the student population demonstrates the ability of an educational institution to create conditions for athletes to pursue both a sports and a professional career. This fact indicates the success of processes aimed at integrating scientific, educational, and sports activities of students through the implementation of a decentralized integration model. The data presented in the study on the indicators and factors of successful organization of activities in universities can be used to build forecasts for the dynamics of the proportion of student‑athletes who are candidates for national teams in the total student population within the framework of creating and implementing development programs.
