The article presents the results of the implementation of the methodology of differentiated development of speed abilities of football players aged 14-15 years of different playing roles, taking into account the peculiarities of competitive activity of players, including differentiated programs for extreme and central defenders, extreme and central midfielders. The practical significance of the study is that the introduction of experimental techniques has had a positive effect, consisting in increasing the level of speed fitness of football players aged 14-15, expressed in such manifestations as the speed of single movement, the speed of simple and complex visual-motor reaction, a single manifestation of concentrated explosive effort; braking speed; starting and distance speed
