This article summarizes the results of a one-year experiment conducted in one of the educational organizations of higher education in a military profile, on a contingent of students who were young officers who entered the service with a higher education that did not quite correspond to their direct job purpose and, therefore, who needed to undergo professional retraining. It is to this category of persons that the concept of “professional-adaptive physical training” is applicable, during which the improvement of psychomotor qualities and abilities occurs, ensuring better adaptation to the chosen professional activity. The study was conducted as part of the disciplinary course of additional education “Physical Training” and provided evidence of the feasibility of its development on the basis of a differentiated approach. The latter provided for the formation of subgroups of students (as part of a training group) taking into account the genetic predisposition of their body (established based on the use of a hardware-software complex for dermatoglyphic studies “Malachite”) to certain types of motor activity, differing in the manifestation of certain physical qualities. The implementation of this approach in the course of solving the problems of professional physical training of officer-trainees (training classes and independent physical training) turned out to be quite effective, ensuring their achievement of higher performance in terms of basic and specially applied physical fitness
