This article presents the results of research on the justification of the principles of the implementation of dual education in the educational process of a sports university. The study reflected the principles of the implementation of dual education and the model characteristics of the structure of the educational process. The main research methods used analysis and professionalism to determine the professionally important competencies of future specialists in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as the criteria for assessing the formation of professional competencies
