University students' legal socialization problem is actualized in the article. There is a clear lack of fundamental pedagogical research devoted to pedagogical assistance to students' legal socialization, which leads to an eclectic presentation on such an urgent scientific problem. The scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance of the claimed research lies in the study of factors contributing to students' legal socialization in the educational process of the university, understanding and developing the problem of preparing teachers for implementation of this process. The problem of studying students' legal socialization is caused by contradictions between: the significance of students' legal socialization for the society development and the state and the ongoing crisis of legal culture; the requirements of the state and public institutions for the implementation of students' legal socialization at the stage of higher education and the insufficient preparedness of teachers to use the potential of the educational process to solve such an urgent task. The research aim is to develop a special course to train teachers to promote university students' legal socialization. The leading methodological bases in the research are integrative-developmental and axiological approaches allowing investigating the problem of promoting the individual's legal socialization from the perspective of integrity, integration, development, and humanization. Theoretical (interdisciplinary analysis of philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical literature, analysis and synthesis) and empirical (included observation, expert survey, conversation) research methods were used. The results are presented in the form of a logical grounding for solving the problem of university students' legal socialization, reflecting the methodology, mechanism, factors and means of implementing this process. The key factor of promoting students' legal socialization - the teachers' readiness - has been identified and substantiated. A special course for teachers «Pedagogical technologies of university students' legal socialization» has been developed, the implementation of which takes place on the basis of a mixed form of education and involves the use of various forms and methods of working with students. The effectiveness of this special course in the form of increasing the high and medium levels of legal socialization of university students is proved in the article
