Introduction: Creating conditions for the successful professional adaptation and self-realization of young staff is one of the current problems in education in Russia. The purpose of the study: to analyze the basics and problems of professional adaptation; to substantiate the necessity to form the readiness of future teachers for professional adaptation in the educational process of university; to identify the activities that contribute to the successful process of adaptation of young teachers. Methodology and organization of the study: The first stage is to formulate and review the conditions for the formation of future teachers' readiness for professional adaptation in the educational process of university. The second stage - identification of measures and indicators of successful professional adaptation of beginning teachers. The results of the study and their discussion: the conditions of the future teachers' readiness formation for professional adaptation in the educational process of university were formulated and considered; the conditions and indicators of effective adaptation of young professionals were determined. Conclusions: the issues of higher education teachers' adaptation at the present stage are topical. The formation of future teachers' readiness for professional adaptation in the educational process is aimed at increasing their level of professional orientation, awareness of the values of the teaching profession, which will facilitate the process of professional adaptation of a beginning teacher.
