The article examines the change in the level of self-esteem of younger schoolchildren through improvements in the organization of student self-government in primary school. The purpose of the study was to determine the pedagogical conditions for the organization of student self-government in primary school for the formation of adequate self-esteem of younger schoolchildren, forms and methods for the organization of student self-government, ensuring the formation of adequate self-esteem of younger schoolchildren. The results obtained will improve the pedagogical activity of primary school teachers in the aspect of the influence of student self-government on the formation of an adequate level of self-esteem of a younger student; in determining the content of methods of organizing self-government for its formation
