The purpose of the study is to determine the physical activity of students at a creative university, as well as to identify the influence of motivational component on the number of steps taken during the experiment. Research methods and organization. The study involved first to third-year students from the Faculty of Screen Arts and the Faculty of Media Technology of the St. Petersburg State University of Film and Television. An assessment of the quantitative indicators of motor activity was conducted using the pedometry method through an application installed on the personal smartphones of the participants. Research results and conclusions. Students of the Faculty of Media Technologies demonstrated higher levels of physical activity than students of the Faculty of Screen Arts. The results obtained allow us to conclude that there is a trend towards increased physical activity among students in creative disciplines when a motivational component is present, which also contributes to engaging students in physical culture and sports.
