The article attempts a comprehensive examination of the essence and prospects of the concepts "tutor" and "tutoring support" in Russia. Under these terms, the authors understand the creation of a system of interaction between the teacher-educator and the student with disabilities, which contributes to the formation of a progressive algorithm for the student's personal development. In this system, the student carries out a set of actions in the university and society, while the educator creates a professional program that provides the most favorable conditions for the educational process. The tutoring support program should include tasks and functions, student supervision in the university, understanding the psychological constitution of the individual considering their specific needs, and a series of relevant trainings and individual consultations.
