The article deals with the most important task for the modem Russian pedagogical community that is formation of needs, interest and motivation in secondary school students to physical culture and sports. All the above said required the search for new forms and methods of physical education in students with the purpose of instilling in them knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of physical culture and sports. The process of formation of motivation to physical culture and sports is a rather complicated process, which is based on the knowledge of pedagogy, psychology, physiology, functional states of the human body. As the result of the research, it was found out that when organizing and conducting lessons on physical culture, the following conditions must be met: theoretical information on the topic of classes should be carefully selected, differentiated and individual approach should be applied, systematic control and analysis should be implemented, a creative organization of classes and a friendly atmosphere should be created
